Caleb C Ng, M.D.

Dr. Ng considers himself blessed to be a California native who has spent significant portions of his life in the southern, central, and northern parts of the state. He graduated as Valedictorian from Salinas High School, and earned a full-ride scholarship to study at an honors program at the University of California Davis. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for his academic and research achievements. He remained in southern California for his ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University Eye Institute, and then moved to San Francisco to receive medical and surgical training from the world-renowned retinal specialists at West Coast Retina. During his fellowship, Dr. Ng was also a surgical and clinical instructor for the ophthalmology residents at California Pacific Medical Center.

Dr. Ng is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal tears, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, inherited retinal diseases, retinal vascular occlusions, and ocular inflammation.

He is also actively involved in multiple clinical research trials and has authored book chapters and many peer-reviewed publications in widely referenced journals regarding genetic diseases of the retina, retinal imaging, ocular inflammation and treatment, ocular trauma, surgical techniques, ocular malignancy, among others.

Dr. Ng is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Ng is proficient in Mandarin and fluent in English and Spanish.

When not at work, Dr. Ng loves being a husband to Michelle and a full-time father to his three young children. On any given weekend, they all can be found gardening in the backyard, picnicking at a local park, exploring a museum, or having fun at a theme park. He is also a lifelong Lakers fan and enjoys rooting for his team whenever he can.
